Our tech folks called AP in New York, and apparently we were told there is some kind of outage.

Anyone else having a problem?

Re: AP Exchange

Not at work today but just signed in from home with no probem, but it looks like nothing has moved since about 3 o'clock.

Re: AP Exchange

Called AP. Their servers are blown, and they don't know when they'll be back up and running.

Re: AP Exchange

Just got this via e-mail.

We’re alerting you that AP Exchange and AP Webfeeds are currently experiencing delays delivering content. We are working to correct the issue and will advise you when normal content flow has resumed.

Inexcusable. No backups?

Re: AP Exchange

Luckily we unplugged our satellite feed today. And just plugged it back in.

Also inexcusable since they haven't moved anything since 3. If it takes them 4 hours just to send an e-mail saying they're down, how long will it take them to actually fix the problem?

Wish we were this fortunate. We dumped the dish a few weeks ago.

Are you getting all AP copy, moon?

Re: AP: Exchange, wire webfeeds are down

Yes via the satellite only. They switched our web feed back to satellite. Just got on exchange though, still nothing.

Re: AP: Exchange, wire webfeeds are down

Copy finally is starting to trickle in. Thank goodness for MCT, or my pages would be very empty right now.

Re: AP: Exchange, wire webfeeds are down

We finally started getting copy about 20 minutes ago.

Got this about 15 minutes ago.

AP Exchange and AP Webfeeds are now being updated with live content. Content that was delayed earlier today will automatically be updated in AP Exchange and to systems via AP Webfeeds.

AP Exchange sucks massive balls. Every thing about it. The interface is particularly asinine. Oh how I hate it.

It does, always has (although I'm more used to it now). And AP's discontinuing satellite transmission is going to be unfortunate if incidents like this happen repeatedly.

What we got a bit ago.

To Our Members and Customers-

Yesterday AP experienced an outage due to hardware failure that lasted for five hours and affected Internet delivery of text, photos and online video. We realize the importance of timely delivery of AP content to your news operations and we apologize.

We are particularly sensitive to the upcoming national elections and we are focused on quality service delivery through Tuesday and beyond.

AP will not be completing any new deployments or updates to our eAP digital delivery infrastructure between now and the elections. We also will not be making any changes to our satellite delivery systems during this time. Customers who have purchased premium election services will continue to access those through FTP or satellite delivery.

Going forward we will continue to monitor and make improvements to our digital delivery systems with as little disruption as possible. We will also make every effort to improve our proactive communications.

Should you need any assistance, please contact us AP Customer Support.

Regards,
