Anti-theist randomly shoots and kills three

Police officials in Chapel Hill, N.C., said on Wednesday that a man had been arrested in the shooting deaths of three students at a condominium complex near the University of North Carolina campus.

The Chapel Hill police said that Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, had been charged with three counts of first-degree murder. He is being held at the Durham County Jail.

be relevant?

Relevant because, crimes by Muslims can't be called out and spelled out as such, but crimes AGAINST Muslims is a different story.

And, Sally Kohn is all worked up about the lack of coverage this morning -- despite the fact that it's one of the top stories on every network and news website.

But, there probably is one reason why the cable channels haven't gone wall-to-wall:

Police charged a North Carolina man Wednesday with the murder of three Muslim students, but any motive for the shooting wasn’t immediately clear.

The shooting occurred about 5 p.m. on Tuesday, when police responded to gunfire and found the three victims dead in their apartment in Chapel Hill. All three were shot in the head, WRAL reports. The suspect Craig Stephen Hicks, 46, described himself online as an “anti-theist,” according to a local ABC affiliate. Police said he turned himself in and has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder.

The victims were identified as Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, and his wife Yusor Abu-Salha, 21, and Abu-Salha’s sister, Razan Abu-Salha, 19, of Raleigh, the Charlotte Observer reports.

Not at all. How did you get that from my post?

I'm sure there are Tea Party members who hold all varieties of religious beliefs, including holding no religious belief.

But, as religion is not at the heart of the movement, I would be very surprised to find someone who defined themselves by their antipathy to religion as member of the Tea Party.
