Americans kidnapped in Mexico

Our government kidnaps hundreds of Mexicans and drops them all over the country.

I’m guess a few die from this.

Per the derailment thread, there are U.S. railcar builders with subsidiaries in Mexico. They employ heavily armed security detachments to get visitors to plant sites.

McGee -- a mother of five who traveled from South Carolina to Mexico for a cosmetic medical procedure -- is among the two survivors, McGee's mother, Barbara Burgess, told ABC News.

I'm sorry, but traveling from South Carolina to cartel country for a cosmetic medical procedure should give you ample time to realize maybe that isn't a good idea.

It's been about 15 years but I was roughly 180ish miles south of the border in Tamaulipas for a week.

On the way down from the border we saw two "checkpoints" but were waved through. I asked the driver and host if greasing the wheels of their justice system took a lot from his revenue. "Enough" he said, but they were allowed to operate. The lodge we were staying at was behind a 15-foot concrete wall with gated entry. Wouldn't have mattered, though, if someone wanted to come in or get to us.

I've been there and also to Mazatlan and north of there. It's creepy, to be honest. I can't imagine Marge and Shirleen and the famblie going down for fatsuction or a nip-tuck and being shocked that something might happen.

No travel advisories had been issued I believe.

Now Graham want to bring the US military into play.

What a great idea.

As usual, Biden's lax interest in border security is the blame.

I should have posted "a no travel advisory had been issued" earlier.

I blame covid fog, not kidding /crossthread

When I first saw reports about it being a medical related trip I thought is was a cancer treatment or some much thing.

I'm sorry for what happened, but sometimes you have to exercise some common sense and be smarter than a fifth-grader. I've been to Mexico twice and both times the presence of armed guards simply make you take pause.

I'm sure there are plenty of nice, safe places to visit in Mexico, but it ranks with India and Jerusalem as places I have no ****ing desire to ever visit. Too dangerous and dirty in my mind, but obviously that's not everywhere. I simply would feel like I needed to have my head on a swivel at all times. Not in India, necessarily, which I disdain for its filth and caste system. My wife, by the way, is Indian by way of Guyana and she has no desire to visit for the same reasons. Also, she says Indian men gawk at women uncomfortably. Her words, not mine lol.
