Golden Era committee did not elect anyone:

Allen & Oliva both got 11 of 12 votes.

Hall of Fame crows about election reinforcing the "highest standards" for election.

Students of baseball history vomit.

I don't know if I'm more stunned the voters could believe Maury Wills is the fourth-best player on that ballot or Tony Oliva was the best.

Really surprised that there wasn't more support for Boyer, especially given the lack of third basemen. or Tiant. Glad to see Hoswam, even though he is worthy, get little support since the Vet Committees have been overloading on non-player choices.

Kaat got the same number of votes the last time, which is interesting because it's a different makeup of voters. And it's pretty obvious that someone is going to get picked for 2018. You don't have that many guys come that close and not get a consensus on one. Too bad it might mean someone goes and they don't get to enjoy it while alive.
