This is a recurring theme from AP with basketball and football games. Sometimes, the box doesn't come for 45 minutes after the game. Yet baseball box scores are sent almost immediately. Don't understand it.

I noticed last night for the first time that AP seems to be sending over a one-graf brief seconds after the final buzzer/whistle.

Also waited 45 minutes the other night for a Suns-Warriors box. Nearly didn't make deadline because I stubbornly held out and kept thinking, "It HAS to be moving in 30 seconds."

If you're devoting more than 12 inches of space to the All-Star game, and it's not something your paper is actually staffing, it might be time to rethink how you do things. Just my opinion.

Baseball boxes are sent from each stadium by computer and can hit the wire within five minutes after the game ends.
Baseball, basketball, hockey, etc., go through STATS and are produced by it. Hit and miss as to when it hits the wire.

Hockey is always fairly quick, maybe five minutes tops. If it has to clear customs from Canada maybe 10.

The other night I just typed the Suns-Mavs in myself rather than wait another 20 minutes.
