I would like to have him as kick returner, but Bloom already has that and Bethel Johnson. The women of Philadelphia will castrate Andy Reid if Bloom is taken off that duty.

He'd be a good gunner on the punt team and a good guy on the edge of the kickoff coverage. They tried him as a returner against San Diego two years ago and he fumbled the opening kickoff after getting knocked into next week. That was the beginning and end of that experiment.

I don't get it though. If he's too dumb to learn the O then put 15 plays in for him and those are the only ones he has to know. And none of them can have him blocking b/c that's what scares the Eagles most about him: that he'll miss an assignment and get the QB killed.

I still think they'll bring him to training camp and see what he's got. But if he can't contribute at least something on offense he's gone.

Yeah, but Gaither's got like five starts. Going into preseason, they were going to rotate the two. Now Trotter's gone. That really sucks. He's long been my favorite player on the team, with Dawkins next.

Trotter has been slow the last two years. Even two years ago when he made the Pro Bowl that was on reputation only. My thought is they told him to lose weight for camp, he did (about 10 pounds) and he still looked slow to them in camp and on tape from the two preseason games.

I'd like to see them move Spikes inside and let Gaither start on the weakside, where he was pretty good last year. Gaither sure is small (about 235) to play inside and I remember what happened when they let Mark Simoneau play in there. Yeah Spikes isn't much bigger (about 245), but he's a vet and has played there before with Cinncy.

I guess they're pretty high on Stewart Bradley too and are counting on him to back up Gaither inside.

It must be just horrible, Mert, to have to constantly defend a city that has a World Series win and multiple Super Bowl wins in just the last few years. Forgive us if we don't feel very sympathetic.
