SMG interviews David Aldridge.
Seems to me SMG was more hung up on Aldridge being a black sports columnists than Aldridge was.
Over 3/4 of the interview was about Aldridge and race. Seems like a waste of space, because Aldridge is a good columnist. If SMG hadn't been so stuck on race, the interview might have been a lot better.

David Aldridge is reporting Ball State offensive lineman Jason Whitlock is planning a career in journalism... more to come.

good point.

but the column SMG referenced is about race. and as a black columnist, Aldridge has more cred on whitlock-scoop-vegas-gangbangas than a white columnist.

a little less race in the interview wouldn't have bothered me.

David Aldridge is one of the nicest people I've ever known, so it doesn't surprise me that he comes off well in this interview.
