So two slots that could have gone to people who most agree "belong in the Hall" go unfilled, at least they cut cut an hour off of the Induction show. I think the problems with the Hall began when they started airing it live and not just showing clips. Players went on and on, shouting out everyone with a speech more appropriate for their private parties they hold during the weekend.
I'm guessing they'll revamp the voting again. The only "benefit" to the new procedure was it gave writers cover by limiting their votes and not forcing them to give a thumbs up or thumbs down.
I don't know why they just don't cap the number at 5 modern era players, if more than five get more than 75 percent, you drop the lowest vote totals. Same with the Seniors/coaches - just an up or down.

The modern vote before the last two years was

cut from 15 to 10
cut from 10 to 5
vote yes/no on each of the final five.

The change to a final seven with no more than five and at least three was to make it "more exclusive" because from 2008 to 2024 everyone who made the final five was elected.

They wanted to make it more exclusive so they do the "20 for 20" pushing through Tagliabue and the rest? Weird.

That was a special deal for the NFL’s 100th anniversary and to get through the backlog of senior candidates because there were years they only nominated one

The exclusivity part came in regards to the modern candidates because the three senior nominees were all getting in so it made for the max 8-man classes

The last two years it’s been 7/10 modern 2/6 seniors 0/2 coaches 0/2 contributor

I enjoy dunking on Belichick as much as the next hater. But the idea that his kicker is a hall of famer and he (temporarily) is not is patently absurd.

Vinatieri spent the majority of his career with the Colts. He made a couple big kicks for the Patriots, and Junior Seau had a couple big sacks for them too. They gave out his number to a ****ing third-string rookie quarterback a few years back, that's how much Belichick thought of him.

Also Jordon Hudson is like the freshman cheerleader who's banging the new starting QB and throwing shade at the guy who was benched. Just stop.

They're both equally trashy. They deserve each other and Bill will deserve her bolting out the door the first time he starts drooling his tapioca pudding.
