Title borrowed from this excellent Twitter thread. In some ways it feels like overkill to bring this up now, when Time magazine moves the national discourse about as much as Highlights for Children. But this feels like a time capsule into an age when the best thing you could do to capture the hearts of magazine editors was to be an amoral tech billionaire, a conservative who didn’t say the quiet parts out loud or a liberal eager to drop a diss track on your own constituency.
