200 Pairs of White Sports Socks?

So, HC & I are at home tonight and I decide to throw in a load of laundry.

Go down to the laundry room and our upstairs neighbour (a 30 something really nice guy) is sorting his laundry. It's all white socks.

We chat and I ask him, "What's with all the white socks, Oliver?"

He says, "I do my socks once a month. I have about 200 pairs".

I looked at him and said, "That's pretty ****ing neurotic". He laughed.

I mean, how many pairs of white sports socks does any one person need?

I wear white socks a lot and I change out in the early evening, usually.

Every band I ever toured with had a jumbo pack of white socks on their tour rider. Whenever we would get to the next show we would take off the socks we were wearing and threw them in the trash. New socks provided by the venue as part of the rider went on.

The more interesting question...if he owns 200 pairs of socks how many pairs of underpants does he own? [and dear gawd don't let him be one of those "there's nothing like the feeling of an empty basement" types]
