Wright Thompson's walk-off

Overall I really enjoyed the story. My only complaint was that he threw himself in the story. It's just a pet peeve of mine, but no gives a **** about us. I think you can tell the same story without saying, "Look at me! Look at me!"

I understand this stance. And, I won't discount it.
But, I thought that's what made for me. It was more "look at them" than "look at me," I felt.

I thought of Joe Palmer's line on Man o' War, "as near to living flame as a horse can get." A fabulous job throughout, especially describing the Classic move, with the quick jump steps right, getting her clear for the run to the wire....
