I'd just like the record to show that when the Tigers acquired Neifi Perez on Aug. 20 they were 79-45 and 5 1/2 games up on the Twins. They've gone 8-13 since and have lost four games in the standings. Enjoy the hell out of Neifi, Detroit.

Sorry, but they started that skid much earlier when they brought back Dmitri Young. So enthused with his return, they went 21-24 -- plus whatever they've been since they've kicked him to the curb.

you can talk about detroit's favorable schedule all you want but the twins remaining schedule goes like this: at cleveland (4), at boston (3), at baltimore (3), KC (4), chicago (3).

true, the first 10 are on the road and i think they'll be lucky to split with cleveland, but this is not exactly a tough schedule.
