The cost of domestic airfare in Canada is total insanity. At one point two years ago, I was in Edmonton and my friend was in Toronto. It was cheaper for me to fly to London, England from Edmonton and meet him after he flew to London, England from Toronto.

We never did it, but you see my point.

However, I just purchased two round-trip, non-stop, weekend-day tickets from LA to Detroit for $101 US.

God bless America.

Actually Metro Airport's new terminal is sweet.
Old one looks like a third-world airport...

You know why Canada rocks? Because they have this guy:

Our lottery winnings are tax-free. Does that help?
I'll remember that when I win the 649 on Saturday

I can relate. I recently bought a round-trip ticket from Nashville to NYC for $142, including taxes.

My question is -- how the hell is Delta supposed to make money off this?

You can leave. I'll stay up here for the full year of mat leave and other fun things such as safety and what not.

I don't know if I should be looking forward or dreading my first trip up there next month.

Detroit's a great place ... to visit ... I've got a friend in the burbs. Always good times. Take the tunnel to Windsor to drink Molsen, take in a Tigers/Red Wings game (haven't seen the new Tigers stadium yet) and there's always a Bob Seger or KISS concert somewhere ...

Depends where you're going.

Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, St. John's--good.

Moose Jaw, Winnipeg, Hamilton, or Wawa--not so much.

Milehigh......if you set low expectations you should be fine,.....Canada is awful. The people are rude, there's nothing to do,....and if you're going to Quebec the people there refuse to speak english.

If you don't have to go, stay home. It's certainly not a place to go on a vacation.

I hear Prince Edward Island is nice.
