What's up with "FAIL"?

It was funny at first when MM introduced it, but like every other word, phrase or joke around here it's been run into the ground repeatedly by unimaginative posters.

At our place, I think it started when we decided that half the coaches in the area failed at life. It seems to happen more often when we get to spring sports.

Fail isn't something that originated here. It's pretty common internet lexicon.

That's why I said introduced instead of invented. And there are plenty of things that originate somewhere else, then get run into the ground elsewhere.

buuuut, the word lexicon isn't common any where.

fail.

It's become very overused, but the Bob Barker photo is pretty good.

There's two popular uses: fail as a common noun (this soup tastes like stale okra and fail), and fail as a one-word declaritive in the lolcat vein. It's the latter that has weaved it's way into intrawebs immortality. But all things go the way of the O RLY? owl.

It was this usage, only of the word "win" that was my favorite. You wrote about how something was made of cherries and win or something and it made me giggle really hard.

OK, I'm not going to lie...I just laughed MUCH harder at this than I should have.

My latest example of fail.

I just looked online to find someplace around me that delivers pizza (love the New Haven style of pizza) and decided to get some boneless wings and save the small pizza to warm up later and tomorrow. What gets delivered but like four chicken tenderloins cut into strips and drowned in sauce.

THOSE. ARE. NOT. BONELESS. WINGS.
