Tremors in NY. Just flipped to MSNBC and apparently earthquake in D.C.

I have never felt an earthquake before. That was freaky.

Yeah. It was. Stuff fell off our walls. Saw on someone's facebook that they felt it in Canada.

Sounds like the thing went through much of North America: I'm watching the Indians-Mariners game in Cleveland, and they said they felt something. And a friend i upstate South Carolina tweeted that he felt something too.

5.8. Wild. That's more than a hard sneeze.

Colorado just had a 5.3 overnight -- its largest in nearly 40 years.

Pentagon being evacuated.

5.8 is a good shaker, even for California. For the East Coast -- that's a biggie.

Just felt the earth shake in Mercer County, NJ and a minute later someone I was on the phone with in New York City was saying "what was that, I just felt the building shake".

I haven't felt an earthquake since 1986, the morning I was taking the SAT.

MSNBC: Centered near Charlottesville, Va.

U.S. Capitol being evacuated.

Epicenter was Mineral, VA, between Richmond and Charlottesville.

EDIT: Should point out that's about 20 miles from Lake Anna, which has a nuclear power plant.

Scared the **** out of us in Annapolis. The whole apartment shook like crazy. Thought it was a bomb at first. Never felt anything like that. Seconds felt like days, especially with a five-day-old infant.

Up to a 5.9

I never experienced an earthquake, but my legs are shaking very oddly here in Michigan...
