That friggin' NBA story should have been here by now!

didn't last year they pull this **** too in some games. a six incher 10 minutes after, and then 20 more minutes for the optional. where is the 15 inch no quote gamer.

edit: as I typed this, it was sent.

So tell, guys, how many of you ever sat courtside at the NBA Finals, in a game that went down to the last shot, amid the chaos and screaming and bull**** going on around you, and tried to write anything when you had no ****ing idea who was going to win and what the story was until the last possible second?

Hmmmm, thought so.

You can still keep a running PBP story going. I know because I've had to do it in situations where the story is due, basically, when the game's over.

Never had to do so at the NBA Finals, though, so I guess that suggestion doesn't hold water...

This is the NBA's problem. This **** starts way too late. The NBA can kiss my ass.

and the game's take way too ****ing long.

Could it be that Tom Withers is slow or Florida AP is slow?

Reason I ask ... Greg Beacham had 20" game stories minutes after Games 1 & 2.

It's what they're paid to do. In****ingexcusable.

should have just needed to top the gamer with the lede. First three quarters should have been in the can.

Given that Withers was knocking out 1000-word stories at warp speed during the Pistons-Cavs series, I doubt he's the problem.

Just hope that the hockey game tonight goes regulation and gets over in record time. That game on Monday was awful and though I'll be there tonight for my paper I just dread what you guys are going to go through.

the first two games also were not in doubt like Game 3 was. I understand that. But like someone said, the first three quarters could have been done already, and then just top with six inches of the fourth a couple minutes after game. and then knock out one with quotes for the optional later. But then again, what i just wrote is much easier said than done.

AP just moved 29 inches.   Dustin Diamond times three, minus an inch.

Dammit, Moddy. I was hoping to forget I ever heard that. :-X

That's our new code.
Guy calls in, how much do I write tonight?
"Two Dustins."
"Dustin and a half."

Should they be called Dustins or Screeches? Because a lot of people don't know his real name, but just about everyone knows Screech.

What a condescending jackoff. Ask a question and then, before posting, throw in a "thought so" as if your post had been up for hours. First off, anybody who has visited this board and has sat courtside at the NBA finals is probably there right now, douche bag. And I've covered my share of events on deadline. The NBA finals is no harder than any other tight game on deadline.
