Web Content Manager

Summary: The Web Content Manager will be charged with developing and executing unique story lines for our web site (thunder.nba.com) and various publications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Cover the Thunder basketball team on a daily basis for thunder.nba.com, working closely with the Director of Basketball Communications
• Report and develop stories in the community and team events as assigned for thunder.nba.com and other OKC Thunder publications
• Drive game-day coverage, including pre-game, mid-game and post-game reports
• Various other duties and projects as assigned, including blogging and all forms of photography
• Attend and proactively participate in weekly staff and interdepartmental meetings

Qualifications and Requirements
• Ideal candidate will have experience working in an NBA environment
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Ability to write stories in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of and passion for NBA basketball
• Computer savvy; experience with PhotoShop, Flash, HTML and other web technologies
• Ability to communicate content across multiple platforms: print, web, audio, video
• Strong verbal, written and communicative skills
• Outgoing personality; ability to communicate in group setting
• Ability to work nights/weekends/flexible schedule

This is a full-time position with full medical and dental benefits.

I'll find out more. I have a high school buddy who works on a NBA team's site, and not the one's listed.

UPDATE: My buddy said that several teams are expanding, but there is a lot of turnover as well. With preseason starting soon, it could be that the teams want better Web content.

The reason the OKC job is open is because the guy who did it when they were in Seattle didn't relocate with the team. I believe he was one of the first in the league who was a team employee and did a very good job with it.
 
I can help with any questions about the city, not so much about the job. But I'll try to help as much as I can.
