The Washington Post buys a majority stake in Celtic Healthcare, a home health and hospice firm. Gawker's already made the jokes about the Post expanding services to its dying print reader base.

The industry is heavily Medicare-based, and there's a small risk (the Post paid only about $50 million, most likely) that it'll get hammered by cuts to the program. On the other hand, Kaplan, its moneymaker, already IS getting hammered by cuts to private, for-profit educators.

This seems like an interesting hedge, and it makes you wonder whether, say, Gannett, will get in the health care business. At the moment, large insurers are investing in urgent care and other health delivery services, so there's some sense there's money to be made. A lot of places had held off any deals until the Supreme Court ruled on Obamacare, and now the floodgates are opening.

Gannett in the health care business would be a sight to behold. All existing health care companies would look like a socialist's utopia.

if Gannett were in the health care business, they'd only pay for Viagra if the erection is six inches or less.

The health center at Cornell (Frank's alma mater) is Gannett Health Services

Well, to be fair, Baron, many women do have short attention spans.
