A couple blokes damaged a couple of the stones at Stonehenge, apparently looking for a souvenir. Damage sounds pretty minimal, although one could argue any damage to such an old and famous structure is appalling:

No word yet on whether Spinal Tap will play a concert there to raise funds for the repairs.

A number of years ago, I spent two weeks travelling in Scotland and went to the islands of Harris & Lewis, part of the Outer Hebrides.

On the western coast of Lewis, there are a circle of stones similar to Stonehenge, but because Lewis is so remote, they're virtually untouched. Because they are in the middle of nowhere, they were as when built in about 2000BC.

'm not religious but standing in the middle of the stones was a transcendental experience.

"Maybe we should change the choreography."

"Why?"

"So the dwarves won't trod on it."

David St. Hubbins: I do not, for one, think that the problem was that the band was down. I think that the problem may have been, that there was a Stonehenge monument on the stage that was in danger of being crushed by a dwarf. Alright? That tended to understate the hugeness of the object.

Ian Faith: I really think you're just making much too big a thing out of it.

Derek Smalls: Making a big thing out of it would have been a good idea.

I'd like to raise a practical question at this point....

Seriously, Stonehenge is about the coolest archeological landmark except for Easter Island.

Are any of the rocks sharp enought to sharpen someone on?

David St. Hubbins: "We're not playing a, uh, free-form, jazz, uh, exploration number in front of a festival audience."

"I've told them a hundred times: put Spinal Tap first and Puppet Show last."

Speaking of Tap, the greatest movie of all time, Ian Faith's son is a basketball player at American University.

How are we supposed to get 14 people on a King Leisure bed?
