Once again Sportsjournalists.com has proven to be the best place to look for talented young journalists who are looking to break into the business. Since we first posted our announcement looking for an editorial assistant we have received a number of outstanding candidates. We are ready to narrow down that list but wanted to put out one more call for people interested in the paid internship at USA Hockey Magazine. The deadline for applying is Wednesday, March 26.
USA Hockey Magazine is looking for a highly motivated self-starter to join our team as an editorial assistant at USA Hockey’s national office in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Candidates must possess a strong journalism background, with sound writing skills and a solid foundation in copy editing and proofreading. Social media skills are a definite must. A working knowledge of ice hockey is highly recommended but not a deal breaker.
Interns will assist the editor in all facets of publishing the official magazine of USA Hockey, including but not limited to, writing, editing, proofreading, instructing freelance writers and arranging photo shoots. A good deal of time will also be spent overseeing the day-to-day operations of our social media accounts.
The paid internship runs from May through December, but start and end dates are somewhat negotiable.
Please send your cover letter, resume and no more than three writing samples to Harry Thompson at [email protected].
