Re: American service member held for civilian shootings in Afghanistan.

Shouldn't the headline read, "Terrorist kills 16 women and children"?

Oh, wait, we only call them terrorists when they're Muslim. I forgot.

Re: American service member held for civilian shootings in Afghanistan.

And now Afghanistan has its My Lai.

What a bad person.

Re: American service member held for civilian shootings in Afghanistan.

He sure is...killing 16 women and children is despicable. Glad you agree.

Stop being dense. We called McVeigh and Nichols terrorists. If you use violence to achieve a secondary goal, primarily religious or political, you're a terrorist. If this person decided to murder civilians for those reasons, he would be.

Horrifying news, especially with children involved. And it puts the troops in even more danger in the most dangerous place on Earth.

Now back to your regularly scheduled liberal exploitation programming.

I think you'll find Somalia is the most dangerous place on earth. The part about more danger is valid, though.

Speaking of lone nuts .... ^^

Oh stop it. This reminds me of the movement a few years back to call suicide bombers homicide bombers, because of the damage they did to others. That was silly too. You want to be as descriptive as you can. Bomber implies homicide, and suicide is a valuable adjective (not all bombers also kill themselves). Similarly, shooting spree implies terrorism, American serviceman is more descriptive.

We need to GTFO of there.

Re: American service member held for civilian shootings in Afghanistan.

I'm hoping the service member's name is something like O'Leary or McTavish or Smith.

Re: American service member held for civilian shootings in Afghanistan.

I hope it was only one service member, but if it wasn't they better not try to cover anything up

Mr. Hadi said there was more than one soldier involved in the attack, and at least five other villagers described seeing a number of soldiers, and also a helicopter and flares at the scene. But that claim was unconfirmed — other Afghan residents described seeing only one shooter — and it was unclear whether or not extra troops had been sent out to the village after the attack to catch the suspect.

Odds are pretty good there have been many many before.

Won't happen before November. Obama's too chicken to take the heat from the right for "losing" the war there. Even if it makes sense to leave the kingdom of the Sandpeople.

When we leave, Afghanistan will be more of a cluster than it was before 9/11.

At least we'll have drone strikes to hit those terrorists.

Yes, you're absolutely right: this tool is a terrorist.
But some will use it to mitigate every terrorist act committed against us in the past.

If we leave Afghanistan now we'll all be speaking Farsi in 2 years and our women will be wearing burka's.
