Torre turns down the Yankees

Yankees on ESPN News teleconference said they offered a one-year deal with an option at $5 million, with a $1 million bonus for making it to the ALDS, ALCS and World Series, so it could be worth $8 million.

But Torre turned it down.

Exactly. Gutless move by the Yankees. Give Torre an offer you know he will turn down rather than having the cajones to cut him loose.

I feel bad that Torre lost a job that he seemed like he wanted to keep, but I'm glad he could give a big **** you on the way out.
