PORT RICHEY - Detectives in Pasco County are investigating the death of a man whose last moments were apparently spent in a Port Richey nude club's 'Champagne Room.'
According to the police report, Jason Transue of Hudson was found unconscious and without a pulse by paramedics called to the Brass Flamingo on U.S. Highway 19 early Saturday morning.
Dancer Vicky Gloria told detectives that she approached Transue after watching him spend money on the girls performing in the main showroom earlier that night. She took him back into the Champagne Room, where he paid for a 30-minute dance.
After the dance was over, she said, he wanted more dances and began "drinking heavily." But when she realized how drunk he was, she asked some of the bouncers to move him to another room so he could "sleep it off."
The club's manager, Charles Pearson, told investigators that Transue was alive and breathing when he was moved. But an hour later, another patron -- who told detectives he was a firefighter -- said Transue looked "weird" and found that he had no pulse and was not breathing.
Pearson called 911, but paramedics were unable to revive the 28-year-old.
Vicky Gloria told detectives that she did not see Transue take any illegal drugs, and investigators reported that they did not find anything else suspicious at the club.
Transue's body was turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office. His only family members live out of state.
