I'm outraged that she's being a third-rate Dave Chappelle knockoff. Again.

Edit: I thought it said Amy Schumer. Sorry. Fact remains this joke is a decade old, at least.

I thought the joke was funny but maybe just not sensitive to the race issues that the Twitter crowd is.

Maybe it's time for some people to stop treating it like it's such a significant and essential communications tool.

I certainly think we are long past the point where newspapers should stop treating social media posts as somehow accurately capturing public opinion. I've been beating that drum on year for a decade.
 
Are you kidding? Newspapers are no longer the gatekeeper. They'll keep chasing that social media *whatever it is* to incorporate into their game.

Newspapers couldn't quit social media posts if they tried.
 
I think anyone using tweets to substantiate a "story" should be required to directly interview said tweeter to make sure they weren't just popping off. Hell, when tweets are treated like votes on a national referendum, it's pretty said.
 
So let me get this right ... A tweet that is a piece of fiction is at the heart of all this?
 
I really don't understand the point of watersports. Big mess. Unless maybe you are in a hotel room or cornfield.
