Not American. But if I was, I'd vote Obama -- and I tend to lean Republican.

Don't let it stop you. I'm sure you can get in line in Detroit or wherever and cast 8 or 10 votes for Obama. Be my guest.

Way to listen to Moddy. Stay classy, Henry.

Obama... and if we could gut the White House to remove all traces of the current occupant, I'd be for that too.

Obama because he is much closer to myself on the political spectrum than McCain is.
For the record, I do believe both are good men -- or about as good as they can be and rise to this level -- and would be a vast improvement over the current POTUS.

Obama. What we're living with now is the endgame of the conservative movement. Their ideas don't work.

The Republican party deserves everything it gets for letting the inmates run the asylum.

There's nothing wrong with being a conservative.

There's plenty wrong with being lying, self-serving, pandering scum.

McCain's already sold out to the wingnuts. There's only one choice left . . . and, Cindy? The last seven years of your 1040s, please. Acting like a Nancy Reagan/Queen **** ain't gonna work out for you.

Folks - thanks for the votes and the thoughtful responses.
A reminder: This is not a discussion. There's plenty of that elsewhere, probably too much. This is just a poll. Which of the main party candidates gets your vote and why. Will the VP make a difference?
Please do not respond to others, etc.
Just vote and say why. Thanks again.

I vote Obama. The Republicans can go crap in a hat.
I have this deep dread that 18 months into the Obama presidency, we'll all be saying 'oh, god, what were we thinking'...

Why?

As my friend Charlie Pierce said....convince me.

And frankly, don't we eventually get to that question during every presidency? It's not about the campaign promises and the quippy speeches...you don't know until the guy is in office. So we'll see.

Obama. And if he doesn't end the war during his first year and shift most of the assets to Afghanistan, I'm headed to Washington with heavy weapons.

Obama.

No vice presidential candidate will change the vote for me, which is based mostly on my disgust over the past eight years.

Obama - He will be either JFK or Carter. For all our sakes, it better be the former as I find it hard to envision McCain winning, though McCain will carry my state.
