House passes 90% tax on bonuses.
I'm as outraged as anyone, but how is this anything but ex post facto?
It also may be unconstitutional.
Under the AIG furor yesterday, a couple people at the Fed decided to print and spend a trillion more dollars (not a typo, or exaggeration) to prop up the housing market for a little more while and take a few points off the mortgage rate, and give another kick start on our way to becoming a third world country.
They are playing a shell game, with the government is issuing debt with one hand, and with the other it’s repurchasing it using paper that it is printing. Who makes these decisions? Are there any public discussions?
The constitutionality of taxing a group of assholes is pretty low on my outrage list.
