I know there are a good number of D.C.-area folks on here. And hell, this might be old news, but I just wanted to pass along that Charles Town Races and Slots will be adding table games beginning July 2.

Lots of people have been waiting a LONG time for this.

Cised.

No chance I go up on opening weekend. I mean, even now, without the table games, that place gets PACKED. I'll wait till later this summer, probably.

And yeah, easy drive for anyone in the DMV area.

Friends and I were thinking of going up there for a night at the end of July, for poker, mostly. Has anyone stayed at the hotel there, or otherwise have any other tips on lodging in the area?

Anyone know if they'll have daily poker tournaments?

Mississippi seems to be going the other way. Lots of casinos here used to have table games and are gradually switching over to mostly slots. I guess they make more money that way.

Tons more money. The casinos at horse tracks outside Indy are all slots but they also have virtual blackjack, craps, let it ride, etc. No dealers, just a few half-dressed women giving pointers on how to use the machines and sell overpriced drinks (no comped drinks at Indiana casinos, on the river or at tracks). Surely saves millions on labor costs, not to mention less theft, player disputes, etc.
