Stringing gigs on the resume?

Do you list who you've been a stringer for or is that too unimportant?
 
Depends. If it's a big-time paper like the NYTimes, you should include it (and back it up with a clip). If it was a paper you regularly did stuff for, you should include that, too.

If you covered a game as a one-shot for some 10K paper from nowhere, no big deal.

Whether you list it also depends on how much other experience you have. If you've been in the business a short time and only have one or two stops so far, it can't hurt to show you did other work as well. Speaks of the acceptance of your stuff as well as your willingness to work beyond the regular shift.

The goal of a resume is to sell yourself and your ability, while remaining honest. The clips are still going to be the most important thing with most SEs.
