Hello, SJ community.
Last month, more than a year after conceiving it, I published this piece to mark the 50th anniversary of Game 6 of the 1975 World Series. In short, it recounts 10 other historic sports tournaments where one team’s victory to stay in the hunt for one more game grew to eclipse another team’s eventual championship.
For one other example of my sports history writing, here is each installment of a five-part, interview-based retrospective I did on the International Hockey League and how its ambitious big-city, big-building spree in the 1990s shaped the professional men’s hockey landscape as we know it today.
