So, I grew up there (until age 13). Went to Parklane. Britney was behind me by a couple of years (who cares about her sister?). McComb was and still is a **** hole. We were actually glad to move to Alabama (Muscle Shoals), if anyone can believe that. The only benefit is its close proximity to Nawlins and Baton Rouge. And that gets old after a while. Anyone taking this job will want to work 70 hours a week to forget they actually live there.

The one question I have about

god damn. i'm glad that's cleared up.

Maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but if you want the section to be a good one, you're going to have to put in the hours. I know I did.

His columns are 36 inches of self-serving, awful pap. God, those things were clunkers. That's the only thing I don't miss about McComb. It wasn't too bad otherwise.

I see everybody decided to jump on McComb and the state. I find it amazing how the writers that post on this board sound just like the knuckleheads that post on our own Web sites and outside forums... just more slash and burn attitude.
I'm a Mississippi native who has spent a large portion of his life in the McComb area. If you like country-living, you'll like the Enterprise-Journal. My family still has a place out in Summit and I love it out there.
The Enterprise-Journal is a nice little paper and easily the best of the Emmerich papers spread around the state.

Obviously, you have no clue that I lived in that area for more than seven years. Unlike you, I didn't have to watch "Mississippi Burning" to learn Southern history.
