The Orange County Register in Santa Ana, Calif., has a full-time position open for a sports copy editor on its desk that produces the Register and the Riverside Press-Enterprise.
Candidates should have at least 3-5 years of sports copy editing experience, a bachelor's degree, a firm grasp of AP style and grammar, and a keen knowledge of sports.
Ideal candidates also should be able to adeptly edit stories, write compelling headlines for print and online, learn the OCR Sports stylebook, jump into the fray to help out when needed and work well in content management systems.
Having a comfort level editing and any design experience on our pagination system (CCI-NG3) definitely would be a plus.
