Having some student-athletes who aren't really students is one thing, but reading on a second-grade level? Please tell me you aren't really going to try to defend that.

It would be illegal for a newspaper to obtain this information, but one way to get a kid who is dumb as dirt into a college is to identify him or her with a learning disability in high school. That is the way to get a kid who cannot read into college.

If he added above a third-grade level, I would say he is very accurate. "Read" is a relative term.

Not defending it but do you really think there aren't kids at UF, USC or Alabama that can't read? Did you watch USF last night? The team is filled with talented kids who ACC and SEC schools can't recruit because they don't qualify. If they can't get into FSU, what the hell are USF's standards? Color inside the lines?
