Some too busy sending resumes...others giving it a glance and figuring they have no shot...

I'd think this sums it up. Looks like it would be a wonderful position for someone to fill. Best guess is it would principally be overseeing the OTL/E-60 long-form pieces ESPN has done such a good job with.

Pretty plum position for whoever lands it, and I'm sure the WWL had some people in mind when they posted it.

Curious as to why these editor jobs at ESPN keep popping up every few months. Maybe it's not as desirable as one might think.

Not supposed to post here, but this is patently stupid.

ESPN has launched three city sites and has at least two more coming in the next few months. Each of those has a staff that has been/needs to be hired. Plus, it's a company that supports and encourages advancement. There's a lot of shifting going on, including some moves on our news desk.

So I'd be willing to bet it's not a question of "not as desirable."

Oh, you may not have to live in Bristol? Well, then it would be desirable!

No outing, 93devil -- or is it Whitlock?

Is there supposed to be an ESPN Baltimore web site coming out soon? If so, how can I get in there?

If espnpodunk.com ever launches, the length of that thread could outdo Charlie Brown.

Not sure the ESPN regionals have an impact on jobs in Bristol. I know all of ESPN Dallas' hires are from the local area, including the top guy.

That appears the direction they are going for all of the regional sites, folks already established in those markets.

Not sure where you're saying I said that. He said "jobs at ESPN," not "jobs in Bristol." So I was explaining why so many editor jobs "at ESPN" have been "popping up."

Gotcha. Didn't catch the discitnction, especially since the job on this thread is in Bristol -- or, at least, so says the thread title.

ESPN Los Angeles to launch Dec. 21.

From Kevin Roderick: "I'm told the newsroom at L.A. Live is impressively large."
