As most of you know, I am am enormous UK Wildcats fan. However, I have always been bothered by the legacy of racism by Coach Adolph Rupp. It is difficult for me to be a “Deadhead” who embraces and loves all, and continue to attend games at an arena named after such a racist man.

Last night I told my wife that I had learned on Sports Journalists that Yale University was considering changing its name. After we joked that Yale is the WKU of the East, I said that I thought Rupp Arena must pick a new name.

I am wondering what my friends at this forum think. If Yale and possibly Harvard can consider a name change, so can UK!

1. Yes, it is. I'm glad y'all got the order right because people keep getting it reversed.
2. Agree with you about Rupp, but dude... It could be worse. I graduated in Diddle Arena. Diddle. Arena. Let that sink in.
3. Bless their hearts, Yale wishes they were WKU. Built on a slope once known as Vinegar Hill, it was the site of an al fresco brothel, a camp for Union spies, and a haven for bootleggers. The campus we all came to love before the turn of the century was rumored to be designed by Hobbits on bath salts. It has since grown and gotten all respectable and now makes sense design-wise. This makes my generation cry every time we see it.

Don't make me take you to the parking lot, strip to waist, and beat you senseless with one of my sloggers.
