I once looked at Bruce Boudreau's career stats, and it looked like when he got called up to the NHL, he'd score goals and collect some assists. But he'd always get sent back down. I have always wondered what the deal was with him as a player. Apparently, they used his apartment as Paul Newman's apartment in Slap Shot, because it was the biggest dump out of the Johnstown player apartments.

I'm not so sure that Crabby story is true. If you recall the scene ... the apartment wasn't exactly a pigstye. Spartan? sure. Crabby is really good at myth-making.
Of course, on Canadien television everyone treats him as good ole Gabby.

Kinda disappointed there hasn't been a Bruce Boudreau mention, yet.
Years ago, this thread would have surpassed the Apollo Creed one with lines from Slap Shot alone.

I guess nobody's trying to capture the spirit of the thing.
