The starting center of the 1977 Marquette national championship team, apparently died more than a week ago in San Diego.

Did he have the longest NBA career of the '77 Warriors? Pretty sure he did.

Wasn't Butch Lee on that squad? Other than these two, I can't recall anyone else, but it's been a long time. RIP.

Recall Al McGuire -- who recruited Whitehead as the last "aircraft carrier" he coached -- referring to him as "Whitebread" or something like that. McGuire never was strong with names.

Jerome was a cousin of former Northwestern star and longtime NBA exec Billy McKinney, IIRC.

yes and Bernard Toone who ended up in jail for auto theft.
