I loved James Caan. And tonight, I hope you'll love him too.

So good in so much. But yeah, Brian's Song. I think the key to that performance - as opposed to other performances of "doomed" characters in films - was that he came across as a regular person and not a saint without flaws. Kind of like Caan.

Elf, The Godfather, The Program, Misery, Honeymoon in Vegas, - that's range.
 
Sure, he is always going to be referred to as "Godfather actor." But, hey, I've seen every episode of "Las Vegas" and identified with him lusting after SJP in "Honeymoon in Vegas."

RIP.

"Las Vegas" wasn't bad. And probably one of the last network scripted shows I watched at its regularly scheduled time.
