RIP Brooks Robinson

Read a story somewhere today about how an Orioles PR man told Brooks that they got a request about a sick man in York, Pa., and that it would really make his day if Brooks called to wish him well. A few days later the PR guy asked Brooks if he made the call and he said "no ... I just drove up there and saw him."

York thinks so highly of Brooks that, when they built the ballpark for the Atlantic League's York Revolution, which he part owner of the named the street outside after Robinson.

I don't know Scott, but Tim is a really good guy. I don't have cable these days but anything Tim would have done on Brooks Robinson I would have been interested in seeing. Brooks was a real a class act. Baltimore embraced its sports figures, and for a lot of them, it was a two-way street.
