Feeling nostalgic

When my mom was cleaning out her apartment, she found a couple of pair of my old sneakers, including my blue and black Jordans and my Avia 870s. I can't believe how much I spent on sneakers when I had no money.

Black Nike Cortez
In fact I'm wearing them right now, not something I do often at work.

In the seventh grade, I had a pair of red All-Stars and high-water pants. I never got made fun of for my sartorial constants.

I lived in Chucks, as did most of my friends (this was 80s). It feels geeky beyond belief typing this, but , we actually wore two different colored shoes. I'd have several pairs at any given time, and I'd mix em up.

This is my biggest indulgence (and which raises my wife's ire). I LOVE retros, I get so nostalgic (go great with my 70's tunes; yeah I enjoyed my youth.)

Currently, jeans were okay'd for every day in the office, so I've got:

clean Stan Smiths for the office;
Rod Lavers, and retro Nike Airmax 93s for the weekend;

Just ordered some retro Converse One Stars (fuzzy suede) for the winter.

Also in back of closet are blue suede Gazelles and green Clydes (scuffed and dirty).

Thanks for sharing.

No mention of Air Force 1s?

For shame ... (full disclosure: I own a few pairs.)

I had blue suede Clydes when I was in high school -- back when Clyde was still playing.

Any female I see in Chuck Taylors loses two points of attractiveness to me.

An 8 becomes a 6; a 6 becomes a 4, etc.

In '85, I had a pair of red and black Jordans to begin junior high.

Should have told my Mom to buy a couple more pairs and keep them in a box somewhere.

Also had some pumps in the early 90s.

I'm feeling very nostalgic right now.

Pumps?

A bold fashion choice to be sure.

I’m now considering getting a pair of Lavers or Stan Smiths.

I've got both (within past 6 mos.), the Smiths (get 80's version with thinner leather tongue) look better with jeans, the Lavers look better with shorts. They have better insoles than in the 70's.
