You probably don't. She's the woman who helped set off the whole Petraeus shebang by reporting Paula Broadwell's psychotic emails, the Linda Tripp of our times I guess.

Now the NYT does this profile on her and, honestly, I couldn't get past the passage where they talk about her and her husband having an oil painting of themselves hung in their home. Who does that?

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/01/06/us/from-petraeus-scandal-an-apostle-for-privacy.html

I have some sympathy for her privacy being invaded, but it's clear she has a massive ego.

begs the question, if she was concerned with a low profile why grant an interview now?

Likely her high powered lawyers put her up to it as a shot over bow
in law suit. Love when the NYT gets used like this.

Does she deserve a NYT profile?

Seems like it's all part of the narrative that her high priced attorneys and pr flacks
are creating with the NYT as a willing partner.

If Ms. Kelley learned anything of national security interest over her baked chicken, her lawyers have told her not to say.

Uh oh.

Reminds me of one of the greatest lines in "Thank You For Smoking":

"I presumed anything I said while I was inside you was off the record."

I've known a fair number of people who have pastels of their children, and two men who commissioned oil portraits of their wives. No couples.

Me too. So much so that I picked this thread to be the first of the year to get deleted.

THAT Jill Kelly was the Don Mattingly of her day. Reliable, could handle the stick and didn't mind diving in the dirt.

They also both pleased a lot of New Yorkers by going deep.

I thought her who deal was that she didn't handle the stick through most of her career.

This woman was an unapologetic socialite and name-dropper, and she sought to be with the "in" crowd, but I think she also did a lot of good things for the troops and their families. Not a big fan of people like her, but living in the area and seeing how much she was in the news and some of the things being written about her, I felt pretty bad for her and her family. I drive by that house almost every day, and the media throngs staking out her home back then was pretty eye-opening and made me see why so many people dislike the media I am a part of.
