Also mother of comedic legend Pauley Shore.

He was on twitter appealing to comedians who knew her to send he a note via tweet. Quite a legend, I hear. I think I saw a documentary about her a while back.

She was a kingmaker among up-and-coming comedians. She had a eye and ear for talented comedy.

If anyone has seen the Shandling diaries show, there is mention in there that she used to tell comics they couldn't be writers.
In her mind, the two did not mix. You were either a comedy writer or a stand-up. You couldn't be both.

I remember Pauly saying they lived in Beverly Hills but he'd walk down the hill (a couple of streets?) to the Comedy Store and he'd be in West Hollywood.
