My mom is in the hospital for the second time in four years because of her heart. A few years ago, a viral infection attacked her heart and she almost died. She wasn't expected to make it through the night that time. It isn't as bad this time, but it still worries me. So, i come to my SJ family asking for prayers, thoughts, etc. Thanks.

Really sorry to hear that, man. I know what it's like to have a mom in bad health (breast cancer) so know that my thoughts are with you.

KY,

Can't imagine what you're going through, and I don't really want to, but know that you have friends here to lend a helping hand. Good luck and G-d bless.

PM me if needed, and take care...

Thanks guys. I havent been able to get to sleep yet because i'm worried it is just as bad as last time. My step dad tried to assure me it isnt, but i still have qualms for obvious reasons.

If she survived that first one, which sounds absolutely awful, she'll get through this.

Sending good thoughts, karma and prayers out to you and your mom.
Hopefully she has a short hospital stay and is able to come home healthy.

WFW. My best to you, KY.

my mom survived an awful time four years ago. chemo weakened her entire system. months of rehab required just to get her on her feet. my dad and she now admit she was touch-and-go there for a while.

she's doing splendidly with her 75th birthday 12 days away.

prayers are on the way, ky.

My dad had a stroke three years ago, and I only thought the worst. You can't do that.

Keep your head high, sir. Everything will be fine.

My mon was really sick with heart problems last year (2006). She is doing better now, so hope and prayers are important.

Good luck

Besides her strong will, your mom's got you in her corner, so she's bound to get through this.

My pop has had two heart attacks and had a defib and pacemaker installed, and he's doing well. He's got to be as strong as your mom. She'll be fine.

My father's been in the hospital for most of the last 2 months (he's in now and I'm writing this from his room). Hang in there, do your best to stay positive and, speaking from experience here, try to do something to clear your head, even if it's just for a few minutes, every day. Worrying is natural (and I'm the queen of it) but as a wise person pointed out to me, worrying isn't going to make my dad (or your mom) better.

Thanks for letting us know this KY. Sometimes there isn't much a person can do in these times BUT pray and have faith. We can all join in that.

Thanks guys and gals. I really do appreciate it. I'll post an update later on. Right now i'm going to do something to help clear my mind: go to church and spend the next few hours with my youth group.

Excellent choice.
