Maybe the prof was planning to try and make a statement or make an example out of someone on the other end who was soliciting sex.
Maybe he was gonna show the perp a thing or two about trying to "meet up for sex" and at the near-climactic moment, he'd bust out his junk and surprise the perp, then give him a verbal chastising and maybe call the police himself.

Let's give this guy a chance to tell WTF was happening before we pile on.
