No first-hand knowledge of Howard, and not to be all cancel-culturey, but how in the world do you do something like this and not be fired?

Especially when he's barely working for the station. Just doing a Saturday show from 8-10 a.m. ... this isn't your morning drive powerhouse brand. You're not losing much if you cut him loose

This says it all really.

It says a lot that the guy has worked in the same market for 40 years and you can barely find anyone who will say a good word about him. Especially considering he HAS done quite a bit for charity.

Whenever I think of him calling himself “The King,” I think of that line from The Big Lebowski: “Now, that’s a name no one would self apply where I come from.”

There was one of those guys who was all over WJOX in Birmingham for a while. Then … he wasn’t. A few months later, one of the regular hosts said something during a show that strongly insinuated that he may have gotten in the kind of trouble with (cough, cough) business associates that can leave you in traction or worse.

Which is completely idiotic to put an outdoors show in the morning slot, because the anglers and hunters are … outdoors.
