Re: Pat Riley quits

So, next season, how many games above .500 are they when he decides to come down from the mountaintop again?

Now now it won't be next year.

It'll be 2011 or something when he gets the itch again, stabs his successor in the back and tries to ride another pair of superstars to another crown.

What a piece of ****.

Re: Pat Riley quits

He's going to try and outmaneuver Larry Brown for the Leafs' GM job.

Re: Pat Riley quits

Erik Spoelstra (WHO?) is the new coach.
****, Riles will get rid of him in a heartbeat when he decides he wants to coach again.

How many guys could get away with this?
"My team is awful; I'm going to step down. ... My team's good again; I'm going to coach them. ... My team is going down the tubes; I'm going to go scout college players while they stink up the joint. ... I can't handle it; I'm going to step down again."
I understand he's earned a certain amount of leeway, but I'm growing tired of this, and I really hope this is a permanent move off the sidelines for him.

When the going gets tough, Riley quits.
But I have to say.....the guy looks like a million bucks every night. Armani suits, rolex watchs, and the hair slicked back. ;D I've never seen a coach on a terrible team look that good.

You obviously didn't see much of Isiah this season.
Immaculately dressed every night and doing his usual horse**** job of coaching a horse**** team.

Is Riley still staying on as President of the Heat, or whatever front office role he held?

If so, he can come back and coach whenever the hell he wants.

He's still the president and he has a puppet for a head coach whom he will replace when the spirit moves him.

Some poetic justice that Stan Van Gundy wins a playoff series on the day that this is announced, no?
