I had the opportunity of meeting him once.
Helluva nice guy. Cincinnati is not the same today without him, that's for sure and take it from someone who now lives in the greater Cincinnati area

Sad, loved listening to the Old Lefthander and Marty Brenneman.

I'm impressed that after pitching at 15, he was able to come back several years later and have a good pro career.

I grew up on a steady diet of Joe Nuxhall. There wasn't a summer night in the first 20 years of my life that i didn't have the radio tuned into Marty and Joe. His style was uniquely Joe, as anybody who has ever heard one of his "fly ball hit to right-left center field" can appreciate.

To me, Joe Nuxhall is baseball.
