On second thought . . .maybe Favre wants to HAVE MORE FUN!!!!!!!!!!

and now, the starting quarterback for your Chicagoooooo Bears...Brett Favre!!!

I wonder if this is a case where the agent was the unnamed source, then quoted in the same story. It just seems awkward to point that the agent is sending out feelers, only to have him interject by saying that Favre is retired.

Well, someone's right, someone's wrong. Which is it?

If true, I can reconcile it just fine as a Packer fan.

If it's true that he's that pissed off about not getting Randy Moss, then don't let the door hit him in the ass. Petulance at its worst, especially when the Packers' receiving corps is pretty good as is.

Time to move on.

Never mind the fact that he is helping the Packers salary cap by not filing his retirement papers until June 1...

What would be difficult to understand about this is the best team in the NFL with an unproven QB is the Packers...

I'd imagine there's some smoke to the fire. Who would just make this **** up? Not like it broke on a BLOG!!!!!

Not exactly a secret, after all, that he wanted out two or three years ago but was reluctant to soil his legacy by leaving Green Bay and finishing somewhere else. Maybe he can rationalize it by saying he pulled a Jordan...realized after he "retired" that he wasn't done yet.

Don't really want to toot my own horn, but I kind of feel like it anyway. From Rotoworld, via others:

The NFL Network and Profootballtalk.com have confirmed that it was Brett Favre's agent, Bus Cook, who spread rumors about his client possibly coming out of retirement.

Cook initially denied an L.A. Times report that he approached teams about trading for Favre. The writer of the report, Sam Farmer, said Cook was the "source" he cited. Cook would stand to make money if Favre continued to play. Cook also said at the time of Favre's retirement that the Packers did little to try to convince him to play. Favre denied all that in his final presser.

What do you want, a ****ing lollipop? :D :D :D

I did find it interesting that the writer outed his source. Guess Gus Cook won't be feeding Sam Farmer any more tidbits.

More actually Favre. Actually from Favre:

"But I don't want to do it if I'm not in shape. It would be hard to go up there at 38. It was hard to stay in shape. I say that, I worked out and I worked out hard. Week in and week out, I was just drained."

So the Bowflex ad he did was a one year and done?

Was it John Havlicek who announced his retirement on the bus to the arena?

Somebody in the back of the bus said "Then get the **** off the bus."

Man, these retirement/not retirement stories are so ****ing ponderous. Just retire and SHUT THE **** UP!

So one week Favre is like no way and then the next he says he'll come back if the Packers need him?

Attention ***** diva. No doubt at all that he came back to break all the records, then left in a huff b/c the Pack wouldn't sign Randy Moss.

I don't agree with any of your three contentions, not even close.
Favre's biggest fault might be that the words "No comment" are not in his vocabulary. Do you honestly think Favre is ringing Al Jones' phone, saying "Boy, I'd love to talk more about my retirement this week!"?

The records and Moss thing are ridiculous assertions that I'm not going to waste my time addressing. And just because I know you're thinking it, you can spare the "Wisconsin fanboi" accusation, because it's not the case.
