The Edison plant opened in the late 80s or early 90s, I think.

I do recall that shortly after it opened, the Star-Ledger changed its edition/distribution schedule because certain parts of Central Jersey were getting later editions of the Tmes than the Ledger.

That's insane. The Edison plant first ran color for The Times in '93. If the Queens facility is the College Point one, that opened just a few years later. I should know this timeline better since my dad was one of the ones at The Times signing off on all the payments to the contractors building the plants. I can't believe they'd close the Edison plant after having it open less than a decade. Can the College Point (Queens) facility handle the extra workload it will have to take on by closing the Edison plant?
