NASCAR Productions has an opening for New Media Specialist position in our Charlotte, North Carolina office. The position will be responsible for building/maintaining the workflow infrastructure and underling systems for an Enterprise Class Production Facility.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Manage the Storage Area Network (SAN) and have detailed knowledge of SAN Theory and Architecture (Quantum Storenext File System a plus)

• Manage the Fibre Switching network (Brocade and Q-Logic)

• Manage and train Production staff on the editing system workflow(s)

• Provide user training in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere and Non-Linear Editing (NLE) System

• Manage and maintain Production workstations, servers, and laptops

• Manage support for edit stations and producers located at remote locals

• Manage remote editing hardware trackside

• Travel Required: 5%


Qualifications include the following:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and four (4) years related experience in Film and Post Production; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Knowledge of file based workflows: EVS, B4M Fork, Front Porch Digital, Spectra Logic Robot and Levels Beyond a plus

• General knowledge of Video formats/codecs

• Must be familiar with Digital Delivery Mechanisms such as FTP/Aspera/Signinat

• Streaming Assistant: Knowledge of Content Delivery Network (CDN) Streaming technologies and formats

• Knowledgeable of applicable software including Telestream Episode, Telestream Vantage/Flip Factory and Adobe Creative Suite

• In depth knowledge of Apple Operating Systems (10.5-10.7 and Server) as well as Microsoft Windows (Desktop and Server), and Linux (Ubuntu and RedHat)

• Must be well organized, have excellent communication skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently. The ideal candidate has a strong knowledge of NASCAR.

NASCAR is doing big things in the social space. They are headed in the right direction. Digital lead is from Chevy.

I would understand it more had it been written in Arabic.

Oh, wait. Re-reading it, I do understand the last two lines, but I have more knowledge of Arabic (Moroccan, anyway) than NASCAR.

I'm out.

Seems like I've seen other NASCAR new media-ish positions previously, though. Wonder if this is a new post or if someone left/moved up.

Probably expanding as they are pouring a lot of resources in to digital per their recent agency review.
