What is the point, to make finding porn easier?

It's a money grab because companies will have to register the .xxx domain to prevent porn sites from using it.

This is exactly right. Porn producers didn't want this -- companies like GoDaddy that sell domain names wanted this.

Ines Saintz? I'd take a peek at that...

I love how the story mentions Penn State as a school that has taken preemptive porn strikes against abuse of its name. Timely.

I was chatting with a VP at my university about this as the school will be buying its related .xxx domain.

No, the point is to make blocking porn easier.

I'm sure they're all doing it. I'm just laughing that the article picked out Penn State as its example school.

It's brilliant because it only costs like $10 a year to register a domain name, so the companies won't give a second thought to doing it, but the registrars who will be collecting all of those extra $10 will be doign nicely.

It's kinda like when the Richard Pryor character in the Superman movie designed the computer to steal the half-cents off everyone's paycheck.

Pay up, *******.

Only if the site features sports journalists like Suzy Kolber, Erin Andrews, Alex Flannigan, etc., etc.
